Summary
A walnut, sycamore, giltwood and silvered metal cabinet or Papelera, Spanish, circa 1630-1670. With fifteen drawers and two architectural doors to the lower corners unusually hinged on their inside edge, each drawer veneered in sycamore and a purpleheart cartouche over which a decorative pierced lock plate has been applied, with side carrying handles.

Papelera in Spanish describes a small table cabinet with drawers but not enclosed by doors.

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
