Summary
A large cherrywood, snakewood, walnut and oak chest, English, circa 1670. The upper section with a slender frieze drawer applied with corbels, above a deep drawer with three raised panels flanked by pilasters and applied with ebony bosses and ivory roundels, the lower section with three oak drawers enclosed by a pair of doors with conforming detail to the drawer above, on ebonised bun feet, the panelled sides of oak. CPW Item 26 (Gallery Room) - 'Chest of Drawers. Front of fruitwood - bevelled and moulded panels, applied pilasters inc ivory bosses. Jacobean. Doors over three drawers below. Two drawers above. Two old keys.'
