Summary
A cherry and ash spinner's chair, English, circa 1790. The tall rectangular back with toprail and two vertical bar splats, the small curved seat of ash, on square legs joined by stretchers. In notebook no.4, page 87 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Spinning Room 12 A Spinning Chair (Spinster's chair) very tall back & small seat - 12" x 6¾".'. Includes sketch with dimensions.
