Summary
A ponyhide and iron bound trunk, English, circa 1800. With a slightly domed lid and studded leather reinforcements around the edge, brass plate inscribed 'Revd. A. Bulwer, Heydon, NORFOLK and of His Majesty's Ship, Theseus, No.1', side carrying handles and iron lock, the interior lined with grey/blue paper with some text visible. In notebook no.4, page 109 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Weavers Room 87. Old Hide covered Box with brass plate Rev. A. Bulwer Heydon. NORFOLK and of His Majesty's Ship Theseus. 3' 0" x 1' 9½". In the Admira's Room is another small trunk with similar plate. Augustine Bulwer D.D. b24 May 1762 m.Bridget Lloyd 1795'.'
