Summary
A red and gold japanned dressing or toilet mirror, English, circa 1730. Decorated overall with Chinoiserie lattice work, figures and scenery, the arched mirror plate hung between square uprights with finials and with arched crest depicting birds, the lower section with sloping lid revealing five small drawers around an open compartment, above one long frieze drawer of arc-en-arbalete outline, on plinth with bracket feet . CPW Item 6 (Unicorn) - 'Red and gold lacquer mirror on bureau shaped stand with flap. 5 small drawers inside and done below with partitions for toilet boxes. Dutch. C.1710'.
