Summary
A parcel gilt, black and gold lacquer shrine cabinet on stand, Chinese, circa 1730. The cabinet with scrolled pediment surnounted by a turned finial, the stepped interior with balconies and lattice windows, columns and five drawers, one each side at the top and one each side at the bottom beside the recessed fifth. All enclosed by a pair of doors decorated with scenic landscapes and bamboo on the inside. Engraved lock plates. On an attached ebonised stand with cabriole legs and pad feet.

Bought from A. Cook, Wigmore Street, London in 1940. Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
