Summary
A studded and iron-bound leather and pony hide trunk, English, dated 1694. With a slightly domed lid initialled and dated in studs 1694 AA, with two drawers beneath, the flap to conceal these now missing, with iron carrying handles, the interior lined with pages from an old medical textbook. In notebook no.7, page 60 (1340945.7) Charles Wade refers to: 'GRIFFON 18. Hide covered Box 1694 AA flat rounded brass studs with 2 drawers below 3' 0" x 1' 7" contains Snowshill Papers ec.
