Summary
A tortoiseshell and ebony cabinet, Flemish, circa 1680. Ripple-moulded throughout and enclosed by a pair of doors composed as rectangular frames of alternating tortoiseshell and ebony high-lighted in bone line inlay, inside and out, opening to reveal nine drawers surrounding a central architectural door with pillars each side, each with a part pediment with a female figure on top, This door opens to reveal a mirrored interior with ebony and ivory parquet flooring (further small drawer missing). The drawers are lined with marble effect paper and there is a further drawer in the frieze below. The sides and top have lozenge parquetry surfaces and the top has a hinged lid to a shallow compartment. Side carrying handles.
