Summary
An oak panelled box bed, Dutch, dated 1687. The open side with a frieze carved with stylised flowers and leaves and a date of 1687 and an egg and dart border, the front uprights carved with stiff leaf, hung with green damask curtains. In notebook no.4, page 34 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Seraphim 51. Box Bed of oak panels with carved frieze dated 1687, paneled top and back. Dutch. Green Damask Hangings.'

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
