Summary
An oak press cupboard or cwpwrdd deuddarn, Welsh, circa 1680. The upper section with overhanging frieze and ring-turned drop finials, a central arcaded panel flanked by doors, each with a small central panel, between them a fixed panel with double arch carving. The lower section enclosed by a pair of large doors, left door bolted, access via right door. On later bun feet. In notebook no.4, page 18 (1340945.4) Charles Wade refers to: 'Anns Room 18. Court Cupboard overhanging cornice, turned pendants upper part two panelled doors with arched centre panel lower part 2 doors, on bun feet, moulded panel sides. 4’5” x 5’1” high. fr. Framlingham, Suff.'

Bought in Framlingham, Suffolk. Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
