Summary
A black and gold lacquer shrine cabinet on stand, Chinese, circa 1730. The cabinet with elaborate shaped and moulded double-arched pediment covered in floral decoration, the interior with a central niche with gold columns, lattice work panels, balconies and steps which double as drawers, surrounded by multiple drawers of various sizes and with raised lacquer panels showing scenic decoration of clouds and flowers, the associated stand with a fall-front hinged flap with floral outer border, on square legs joined by an undertier, the doors to the upper section no longer in place.
