Summary
A black and gold japanned cabinet on carved silvered stand, English, circa 1680. Decorated overall with figures, trees and pagodas in landscapes, the doors opening to reveal ten variously-sized drawers, the silvered stand profusely carved with leaves and flowers, the frieze centred with two cherubs holding a wreathed shell, on scroll and leaf carved legs terminating in scroll feet. Five brass hinges, pierced brasswork corners. Ornate brasswork lock plates.
