Summary
A walnut, giltwood and decorated cabinet or Papelera, Spanish, circa 1630-1670. With seven drawers around a central door enclosing three further smaller drawers, all profusely decorated with geometric designs highlighted in bone and painted detail and applied with projecting spiral columns, the sides with iron carrying handles and the edges bound with iron straps, the top and sides in walnut. The seven drawers and cupboard each have a central lock.

Papelera in Spanish describes a small table cabinet with drawers but not enclosed by doors.

Given to the National Trust with Snowshill Manor in 1951 by Charles Paget Wade.
