Summary
The doors for the black and gold lacquer cabinet on stand, and a bag of associated decoration and hinges. Chinese, the cabinet circa 1700, the associated stand circa 1860. The interior set out as a Buddhist shrine, with a stepped and galleried dais with giltwood pillars and sliding lattice shutters all around a central niche, with nine variously sized drawers below depicting scenery and pagodas, enclosed by a pair of doors (now removed and stored) with engraved brass hinges and depicting distant waterside landscapes below flowering foliage, the stand with busy floral decoration, pierced scrolling frieze and cabriole legs with claw and ball feet.
