Summary
Sword; Wakizashi (Japanese sword), signed Hiromasa (of Sagami province), early 15th century. Steel blade with brass or copper ferrule and groove. Two metal spacers and tsuba (inventoried separately 1328812/SNO.A.206). Wooden handle covered with cream fish skin and blue textile webbing. Brass lion menukis. Brass ferrule and kachira. Wooden scabbard covered with black lacquer with orange mottling. Strap loop. Decorative pierced metal tip. Groove and slot for sharpening tool. Stocky label to blade '8'.
