A suit of Samurai armour consisting of a Helmet (Kabuto), a mask (Mempo), missing its nose, attached throatguard (Nodowa), two shoulder guards (Stode), a pair of sleeves (Kote) a curiass (Do), thigh armour (Haidate) and shin guards (Suneate).

Charles Paget Wade notebook number 393 (1340945.3 / SNO.MISC.959.3): 'Japanese Armour. lacquer Helmet gold of morion shape. neck guard of gold plates braided blue. Brown mask. Blazon of discs pierced.KAWAZUTUMI HARAMAKI = all leather covered. Body piece of leather on metal, finished dark brown & gold lacquer. braided blue & coral. Shoulder pieces of black lacquer plates. Tassets. Sleeves & leg pieces of chain & plate. the plates on sleeves are gold. Spear. fr.Cheltenham (sketch of blazon alongside).'
