Summary
Full length composite suit of armour consisting of a close helmet with a large circular perforation on the visor from Germany circa 1550. CPW Item number 157 (Dragon). Plain breastplate, a pair of shoulder guards, a pair of elbow guards, a pair of gauntlets, rivetted upper leggings, and complete with a pair of boots. Leather strapping to hold together. 'Suit of German armour, composite, breastplate 1572, arms 1600, tilt helmet circa 1650. From the Bartell Collection, St Donat's Castle. Leg pieces added' (M. Jessup). CPW Item number 166 (Dragon). Displayed with Halberd SNO.A.9. Ferrous metal.
