Graphite and watercolour heightened with white on paper, George Abraham Gibbs (1718-1794) by John Downman, RA (Ruabon, North Wales 1750 – Wrexham 1824), signed with initials and dated J. D. 1781. A half-length portrait, in a blue coat, seated holding a book in his right hand. Wooden noisettes missing from front of frame.
