Summary
One of the set of six unusual green-painted hall chairs made for the Octagon, English, circa 1795. Together with two reproductions of the 1990's to complete the set. Each has three vertical uprights meeting at a point to form a tripod shape to the back which is surmounted by an octagonal panel applied with decoupage, on the seat the radiating woven string is stretched over the octagonal seat frame and nailed to the underside, the legs are also octagonal and are high-lighted in a darker green stripe and taper down to an X-stretcher. This one was conserved during summer 2023 by the Knole Conservation Studio
