Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey (c.1517-1547), after Guillaume Scrots (fl.1537-1553), 16th century. A full-length portrait of a man, standing wearing a brown and white figured trunk costume and white tights, a fur trimmed cloak, cap, sword and dagger, his right arm resting on a pedestal, on whih is inscribed: SAT/ SVPER/ EST and holding a glove. A view of a landscape can be seen on the right with distant horizon and stormy sky.
