Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Masked Ball, Italian (Venetian) School, circa 1600. Numerous figures, some in oriental dress and masks, are walking and conversing under what appears to be a colonnade, through the arches of which buildings or part of a palace are visible; musicians in a gallery at the left, and in the foreground an arrangement of contraposto figures which gives the effect of a stage group.
