Summary
A very large Copeland jardiniere. Late 19th century. Moulded with a Greek key border to the rim, printed in blue with a continuous scene in the 'Tower pattern'. Earthenware. Decorated with floral friezes top and bottom, around its centre a continuous landscape, all in underglaze blue transfer. Moulded Greek key pattern around shoulder with four faux handles, below ram (or lions) heads. Mark: printed in blue “COPELAND, Spode.........., ENGLAND” within an oval. Date 1892-1922
