Summary
A very large Copeland jardiniere. Late 19th century. Gadrooned rim, printed and coloured with a continuous scene of birds perched in flowering peony branches. Decorated with relief moulding to the friezes top and bottom, around its centre transferred Chinoiserie decoration in the Famille Rose palette. Mark: printed in black “C” within a fretted square surrounded by “MANUFACTURED BY, COPELAND, STOKE ON TRENT,-illegible. C1880
