Summary
A seventeenth-century oak table with rectangular top. The frieze is carved with formal scrolls, and the turned legs united by plain stretchers. The original underframe is made of oak, the replaced top of chestnut and the structure under the top of pine.
Provenance
Knole and the majority of its furniture were accepted by HM Treasury in part payment of death duties and transferred to the National Trust in 1946.
