Summary
A saucer from a set of six Sevres coffee cans and saucers. Flaring straight sided saucers having dark blue rim decorated with gilt swags and scrolls, the round central panel painted with vases of flowers on marble slabs. c.1792. The set was reputedly given by Napoleon III to an ancestor of the present Lord Sackville. (En suite with C.20 and C.21).
Marks and inscriptions
painted marks in gold - all saucers 'pp' (1792), and all have incised mark (inventory card says see Michael Hall's notes for details of these).
