Summary
Toy locomotive with key (kept in station) No 1924 painted black, red and yellow. The loco has led an interesting life. There is evidence on the tender of the original lettering being painted out and replaced by the current LMS. Close examination reveals some brush marks in the lettering which has been done by a very skilled hand. The ends of the characters are square and the whole thing properly spaced. The number, 1924 is not a reference to the date of manufacturer. The original lettering is likely to be MR (Midland Railway) but this is impossible to discover without removing part of the engines history.
