Flora Elvira St. Clair Paint (1857-1905) came from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her father, Henry Paint, was from a Guernsey family who had emigrated to Canada. He eventually became a member of the Canadian Parliament. In his diary for December 1873, Theodore Mander described Flora, who was at school in England with his sisters, as a "very merry girl". In 1879 they were married in Halifax. After Theodore's death, Wightwick Manor (where this picture hangs) passed to her, but she suffered from poor health, and died in London on 15 April 1905.
