Summary
A beech and rush ladder-back armchair, one of a pair, part of a set of eight comprising two armchairs and six single chairs, British, 19th century, with six shaped and graduated horizontal splats between two circular uprights with turned finials, the shaped armrests on turned supports, the square rush seat with thin wooden seat rail, the turned front legs terminating in small pad feet atop circular blocks, with chamfered square-section legs to the rear, with two stretchers to each side, a single to the rear, and a single turned stretcher to the front.
