Summary
Oil painting on panel (lower tier), Jane Morris by Henry Treffry Dunn (Truro 1838 - 1899), circa 1896-98. This seems to be taken principally from 'Reverie' (Surtees No. 206), a finished drawing in coloured chalks of 1868 owned by Watts-Dunton which hung in the drawing room at The Pines. However, the composition is reversed and has similarities with 'Penelope' (Surtees No. 210) of 1869 (especially the hands) and 'Desdemona's Death-Song' for which Watts-Dunton owned a study of c.1875 (Surtees No. 254F).
