Summary
A mercury barometer in narrow mahogany case. Late 18th. century?. A column surrounding the glass tube, supporting a cornice surmounted by an urn. Towards the top a brass plate engraved on left with weather condition (e.g. "Set Fair"), on right with pressure scale in inches of mercury, and above "Sandland WEM".

Part of the Bernard Shaw Collection. Bequeathed to the National Trust in 1950 by George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950)
