Summary
Pen holder from an inkstand, together with an inkwell and a taperstick which perhaps formed the lid to a bougie box, mark of William Cripps, 1751, baluster pots each with detachable pierced covers, chased shell and scrollwork shoulders and gadrooned borders. See an inkstand by Paul de Lamerie, 1744-5, with the earlier arms of Anson quartering Carrier, now in the Gilbert Collection, on loan to the Victoria and Albert Museum.
