Summary
A circular bowl/ecuelle, porcelain, reserved with animals and birds in oval dark brown panels, with gilt rings and vine pattern, probably Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea (Royal Factory of Ferdinand IV), Naples, Italy. It was made at the porcelain factory of the Bourbon King of Naples, Ferdinand IV, who also owned the ancient Roman sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the excavations of which proved so inspirational to neoclassical designers.
