Summary
Tomb fragment - Limestone fragment showing parts of a marsh scene of a kind common in tombs of the old Kingdom (2600-2200BC) and later copied, as here, in tombs of the Saite Period (700-500BC). Cows are shown (above) passing through water to reach their grazing fields. Male and female porters (below) carry marsh produce. The central woman bears lengths of papyrus stalk. (R9).
