Summary
Two panels of polychrome marble pendant garlands. The marble was probably taken from the Fabricotti quarries outside Florence. William Bankes sent the garlands over with very detailed instructions about how they were to be re-fitted into black marble from Ireland or Anglesey, 'as designed, none of superior quality being to be had in Toulouse'. In fact they were set against black marble from Belgium in 1855, supplied by Louis Roget.
