Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Saskia van Uylenburgh (1612-1642) (after Rembrandt and Abraham van Dijck), by Charles François Felu (Waarmarde 1830 - Antwerp 1900), signed and dated C. Felu.pede Rotterdam [?Waarmarde] 1881. A half-length portrait of a Rembrandt's young wife, turned to left, profile, wearing a large feathered hat, pendant earrings, a single strand necklace, her hands clasped at her breast. The original composition is in the Gemäldegalerie, Kassel, but Felu made this copy from a variation by Rembrandt's pupil, Abraham van Dijck, in the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten, Antwerp.
