Summary
A mahogany bookcase on chest, English, part circa 1765. The top section with a broken swan neck pediment with dentil carved moulding and a pierced fret work frieze above a pair od astragal glazed doors, the lower section a serpentine chest of drawers with four long graduated drawers, the top one fitted with a baize lined slide. Raised on bracket feet, the top and base appear to be associated, the pediment has been altered.

Bequest of the estates of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy made to the National Trust by Henry John Ralph Bankes (1902-1981). NT ownership commenced from 19th August 1982
