Full description
The oval photograph, edged in white and mounted on card shows Dorothy wearing a two toned dress with a large lace bow on the bodice. On her head is a cap trimmed with lace and a flower. Around her neck is a choker and a necklace with a large pendant. Signed: 'Dorothy'. Lady Dorothy was a socialite, author, and importer, breeder and official judge of Siamese cats. Dorothy was born in Berkley Square and lived, with her husband Reginald, at 45 Charles Street, the same street as Margaret and Ronald Greville and William McEwan. She was a friend of Darwin and Disraeli; a founding member of the Conservative Primrose league; specialist in the growing of Orchids, collected art and cultivated a network of talented friends including writers, artists and politicians.
