Full description
This Italian pastoral scene depicts a peasant woman at rest by the roadside with her children close by. Two more women are on the road, one on a horse, and there is a farmer herding cows aided by his dog. A fortified building is in the background. Information is printed below the image. The original painting was owned by William Herring Esquire.
