Head and shoulders portrait of a man, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a dark purple coat with black velvet collar, white waistcoat and cravat. Large dark brown eyes, grey hair, sallow complexion. Sky background. Signed lower right cursive: E.

The bequest of Margaret (Anderson) McEwan, The Hon.
