Summary
Bronze, Rearing Horse and Leaping Horse, after models by Ferdinando Tacca (Florence, 1619-1686), 17th century. A pair of bronze stallions after models by Ferdinando Tacca, on verde di prato bases. See also NT 514991 and 514992 at Anglesey Abbey. As the stallions are shod and the mane of one of the stallions is tied with a bow, it has been suggested that the models in some way illustrate the art of dressage, in which highly trained horses undertake choreographed movements.

Mrs Ronald - later Dame Margaret - Henry Fulke Greville, DBE (1863-1942) from probate records linked with the donation of the property to the National Trust in 1943.
