Bronze sculpture on a wooden plinth, Amphitrite, after Michel Anguier (Eu 1612 - Paris 1686), after the model of 1652. A bronze figure of Amphitrite rising from the sea, holding drapery in one hand and a lobster or crayfish in the other, with a dolphin at her feet.
Provenance
The bequest of Margaret (Anderson) McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald - later Dame Margaret - Henry Fulke Greville, DBE (1863-1942) from probate records linked with the donation of the property to the National Trust in 1943.
