Summary
A walnut bureau, provincial French, mid-18th century. Of slightly serpentine form and with a hinged fall above two short drawers and one long drawer. All carved with Rococo scrolls, lattice-work garlands and cartouches. On cabriole legs and with shaped aprons.

Date of acquisition not recorded; bequeathed by Margaret McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald Greville (1863-1942) with Polesden Lacey, to the National Trust, in memory of her father, William McEwan (1827-1913) in 1942.
