Summary
A walnut armchair, French, circa 1750, Louis XV, forming a set of four with three copies, with serpentine back, scrolling armrests and supports, on cabriole legs, covered in old 'gros and petit point' needlework, with flowers on black ground.

Previous history and date of acquisition not recorded; bequeathed by Margaret McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald Greville (1863-1942) with Polesden Lacey, to the National Trust, in memory of her father, William McEwan (1827-1913).
