Caption
This watercolour is thought to show a view of the River Eden by the Redleaf estate in Kent. Redleaf was owned by the shipbuilder and art collector William Wells (1768-1847), who was a patron of many British artists, including Edward William Cooke, Sir Edwin Landseer, and Frederick Richard Lee.
