Summary
Woodblock print, ink and pigments on paper, Shinobazu ike (Shinobazu pond), from the series Tōto Sanjūrokkei (Thirty-Six Views of the Eastern Capital), after Hiroshige II (1826–69), c. 1861–2, signed lower right Hiroshige ga (picture by Hiroshige). Depicting various figures walking along the lake under blossoming trees.
Provenance
Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
