Oil painting on panel, Frederick, Viscount Castlereagh, later 4th Marquess of Londonderry (1805-1872), wearing hunting costume, by Sir William Allan RA (Edinburgh 1782 – Edinburgh 1850), signed and dated, lower right: William Allan/ pinxit 1823 and inscribed with identity of the sitter 1823. A full-length portrait of Frederick, Viscount Castlereagh, standing in a landscape, wearing hunting costume, his head turned to the right and a gun slung over his right shoulder.

On loan to the National Trust from the estate of Lady Mairi Bury (1921-2009). Accepted by HM Government in lieu of Inheritance Tax and allocated to the National Trust, 2013
