Summary
Louis Philippe clock with a striking movement enclosed within a sphere mounted with three putti and enriched cornucopia, the shaped two tier plinth base decorated with ormolu mouldings. The hands in the form of the snake and the crane/ibis? Two -train ‘pendule’ movement rack striking on a single bell. Signed on the movement backplate ‘ROLLIN A PARIS’, ‘1118’, ‘72’ [pendulum length] with Vincenti medaille. The solid brass pendulum bob scratched ‘Drawing Room’, ‘1118’. The Brocot type suspension unit signed ‘BROCOT PROPRIETE’. Associated modern brass butterfly winding key is an ok fit.
