Summary
A walnut games table, French, mid-18th century, the rectangular removable table top inset with a gros-point needlework panel of pale grey leaves and flowers on a sage green ground with a protective glass cover, the reverse of the table top and the interior of the table inlaid for backgammon and checkers, the friezes centred by small indents to the lower edges, on four cabriole legs terminating in decorative brass sabot (the front left missing), the legs with chamfered outer edges. The underside applied with a white round sticker with handwriting reading '224'.
