Summary
A satinwood and burr yew bow-front cupboard, adapted from a pot cupboard, British, late 18th century, the bow-front top with stepped front corners, the top inset with an oval burr yew panel on satinwood ground, and with a moulded rim, a pair of cupboard doors with a round brass handle and backplate, each cupboard door veneered with a burr yew canted rectangle, the cupboard doors above a drawer, the front veneered with a burr yew oval and with a handle ensuite to the cupboard doors, each side of the cupboard inlaid with a burr yew canted rectangle above an oval in a satinwood ground, on four square-section tapering and collared legs, the legs have been lengthened with square-section lengths inserted between the legs and the cupboard section. The top with a protective glass cover. The underside of the cupboard applied with a white round label with handwriting reading '94'. This cupboard if of similar design to a dressing table NT 1220592 also located in the Breakfast Room at Mount Stewart.
