Black and white photo lithograph, Sir Thomas Wharton (c.1614-1684) (after Sir Anthony Van Dyck) by Valentine Green ARA (Salford 1739 - London 1813) of Sir Thomas Wharton in the marble parlour at Houghton. From a painting by Van Dyck and drawn by Josiah Boydell. Engraved by Val Green engraver to His Majesty. Published March 25th 1775 by J.Boydell in Cheapside, London. In glazed Hogarth frame. The original is in the Hermitage Museum
Provenance
On loan to the National Trust from Lady Mairi Bury (1921-2009), 1976, then purchased by the National Trust from the Estate of Lady Mairi Bury 2012.
